Restaurant De Hunan

I was introduced to this Hunan Restaurant by Chef Steven and was told that the dishes served here is gorgeous. I was told it is a must order for the Mao's Pork and also the steam fish head with salted red chillies. So what I did? I step into this gorgeous eatery.

I had tasted Mao's Pork when I visited Mao's Restaurant in Beijing. This Mao's Pork dish in Beijing tasted very different from what we usually get in Kuala Lumpur. It taste so soft, tasty and so succulent. Lovely! When I was at this eatery, firstly we were served with some unique tibits:

Seaweed Pickle

Lotus Root Pickle

Yummy thin slices Pig Ears

3 plates of tibits to start off with which is so delicious.

A lovely bowl of steam rice.

A skewered prawn top with black bean paste, lovely. Here we get bigger prawns but in Beijing the prawn is so micro small, lol!

"Lat Chee Kai" Hot Peppered Chilli Chicken

OMG! Mao's Pork....authentic lovely! A must for Porkie lovers!

Pig's Tail Claypot..... very delicious and with a touch of hot!

Oh! Lovely Hot Fish Head..... a must for hot lovers... "just like chasing the dragon"

Emperor noodles to be eaten with the fish head gravy.... fantastic!

If you are a porkie and also a fan of hot hot food, this is a place to be! Beijing on your doorstep!.

MAX Rite Bites Food Fest @ Changkat Bukit Bintang

During the Max Bites Food Fest, we were brought to Frangipani which offers contemporary french cuisine, located along Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang. In this visit we were escorted to their upstair bar which is one of the most visited bars during the weekend and downstair is where their dining area which serve comtemporary french cuisine. Looking through from the upstair, the dining area looks classy and centered with a pool.

We were served with a variety of cocktail drinks which taste very strong and bitter to my liking.

Here comes the finger food, there were served on chinese white ceramic soup spoon. Oh! This taste rather delicious, it was smoke duck served on mash potatoes. I like this, it really make me so hooked on them and I keep eating them spoon after spoon.

This is another gorgeous salmon. Such a finger salmon, comes in such a thick portion and yet so succulent. If you are a raw fish lover, this something to die for.

And here comes the dessert, meringue sandwich with thick cream and chocolat. Just superb to end the visit.

Just look how we end this visit at Frangipani, just well licked stacks of white chinese ceramic soup spoons. I hope the next time I get to taste their food at their dinning section, that would be something to look forward and to die for.

Happy Meal, Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur

Happy Meal? Is this another McDonald set meal? It is NOT. It is a small bakery located at Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur, just right opposite of Popular English Bookstore. Woah! this bakery is really cool! Why? I notice that you can get loads of good bakery at a good reasonable price. They serve banana cakes, butter cakes, egg tart, cream puff, almond tart and many other simple and yet delicious cakes. Oh they also have pineapple tart and even lotusbean paste cookies. If you are around this area, I definitely recommend you to drop by this place and check it out. If I have RM50 to spend my meal for the whole day, I definitely will drop by this place, delicious, gorgeous and affordable.

Fork & Spoon, Dataran Sunway

I was at CIP's Hari Raya open house recently at Sime Darby Convention Centre that I meet Jaee and Li Vooi. We somehow got introduced by my good friend, Johan Nazir and end up talking about food and foodblogging rather discussing about what is the next ICT invention that can make money. After talking to Jaee, I was invited to visit Jaee's working place, a cafe by the name Fork & Spoon. It was also by chance that Fork & Spoon Cafe is just near by my place located at Kota Damansara, so Sunny and myself decided to visit this cafe that night.

When we arrived at the cafe, we notice that the cafe offers a wide range of food such as nyonya food, hawker food, western, also delicious desserts and also roti bakar.

We were served with iced cold honey lemon drink which is a thrist relieve and refreshing drink. We like it so much, not to sweet but ends with a honey lemony taste.

Then came the Malaysian Prawn noodle "Hae Mee" as well mentioned by Carol. Their Prawn noodle consist of few medium size prawns and pork ribs. The stock was really good and tasty, don't taste much of MSG.

The flow keep coming, next it was the huge rendang chicken. Oh! I love the way they had their rendang chicken cooked, real spot on, just the way I like, so ethnic, one bite and you know it is cooked by a malay chef. Delicious.

Jaee came and told us that the main dishes will be coming and as us to relax a while and have some nibble of ikan bilis. This ikan bilis dish according to Jaee, is s dish create for drinkers as it goes well with beer and liquor. It is really good, the ikan bilis is so crunchy and coated with caramel, makes it so marvellous. Yes I do agree that this dish is a good company of snack for people who are drinking and also having a good dinner chat. A thumbs up!

Here comes or main dishes, gosh what a great feast for the two of person. We were a real eater that night, loading fofd and more food. The mixed vegetable was absolutely good, well stir fried. The celery, greenpea, long bean and baby sweetcorn were gorgeous, chrunchy and not over cooked at all.

Oh! we were serve with two new dishes that is going to be launch here in November, this one is "Kum Kong Kwat" a pork rib dish which taste very unique, deep fried short ribs coated with a sweet and lime taste sauce. A taste that somehow will stay in your mind.

The other new dish is "Yut Sek Har" Vietnamese Style Prawn is also a real winner. The prawns were very fresh and the taste of the sauce infused into the meat.

We ended our delicious and satisfied dinner with onde-onde, a delicious dessert mixture make from glutinous and tapioca flour, with embedded palm sugar and coated with grated coconut.

Hua Nam Coffeeshop in new town ipoh has been around for many years now and still churning lots of delicious hawker food. I am definately one who will never miss visiting this shop for my afternoon tea. I will always go for the "Law Mee" and always make sure the stall serve them in Penang style. "Law Mee" is noodle dish serve in a dark sauce and comes with topping such as shreeded chicken, sliced prawns, deep fried onions and some 'sambal" chilli paste. It is nothing new as you can get this similat dish in Kuala Lumpur and even in Petaling jaya. So what make this particular dish so uniqe? Well, got to say I was introduce to this dish by my cousin Jennie, She taught me how to eat this dish and that makes the dish so unique and so delicious. This stall serve pickle crushed garlic. What you have to do is just add those pickled crushed garlic into your "Law Mee" noodle and mix them into the dish evenly. OMG! now you will be able to taste such a unique taste and flavour of this "Law Mee". A must try if you are in Ipoh!

Another delicious noodle that you can enjoy at this coffeeshop is the Curry Noodle. So delicious and I hardly can describe thwem to you. I think you need to try yourself and from my pictures, they tell! ...lol!

Rojak is also something that need to try here. What makes this rojak dish so delicious...of course is the rojak sauce. I also love the the prawn crackers serve on the rojak. So crunchy and so tasty when eaten with the rojak sauce. And those crushed peanuts toppings really adds the flavour of this rojak. This rojak is really something that i would crave for...... so to say, something to die for.................lol! Same goes with their Sotong dish....you have a try and let me know later!

Hokkien "Har Mee" is also a winner here. A noodle dish that comes with slice pork and shrimps and comes with prawns soup. Lovely!
