A Refreshing Noodle . . . .Vegetable Pan Mien

My close friend Jennifer had took me to this Pan Mee place located at Taman Kepong. This cofee shop located just behind the King's Bakery which located at Lorong Bangau 2. The Pan Mee was superb delicious and it is make of roughly blended celery leaves or spinach leaves. This Pan Mee shop is called Vegetable Pan Mee and was establish since 2001. We were very lucky as we were in troduced to Uncle Wilson the owner of the stall. He showed us how the pan mee was make from flour till a bowl of lovely Pam Mee.

A bowl of this Pan Mee is only RM3.80 and you can have it dry with black sauce or with soup. It comes with fish paste, fried soya bean skin and loads of celery leaves or green spinach. L like the texture of the Pan Mee, tender, soft, tasty and not too hard. The best part of it you can have either in a form of fine strings of pasta or in the shape of rectangular pieces of pasta. Each bowl is served with loads of fresh celery leaves which makes the noodle delicious and fregrant.

chef

When I got home, I received an invitation card to attend a Ramadan dinner specially crafted by a well known Malay Cuisine Chef Azman Ahmad and his culinary team. In the invitation card, it said “You are kindly invited to attend a Ramadan tasting by Our Malay Cuisine Chef Azman Ahmad at Eccucino, Prince Hotel on xxth August 2008” Quickly I blocked the date on my diary.

On the day at Eccucino, I meet Chef Azman himself, great chef himself with full of personality. By the way do you know Chef Azman is famous for his fully flavoured Redangs . . . yes he is one of the top Malay Chef in Malaysia. This time Chef Azman had prepared a whole Roasted Lamb readily for carving which was the highlight of the night. Sitting next to the Roasted Lamb was Lemang and Chicken Rendang. As we moved along the food counter, his culinary chefs were busy churning out fresh chicken, beef, and fish dishes.

Indulge The Kampung Fare This Ramadan at Swiss Garden

A_dtEAM_1Lamb

I got an email invitation from Flavor, Swiss Garden Hotel KL to taste their Ramadan Buffet Spread which offering over 100 mouth-watery delicious dishes and there sure wanting myself to be present. As I arrived that night, I was greeted by a team of chefs headed by Chef Wong Yean Loong and watched them bring out the whole huge Roasted Lamb out from the kitchen. I was informed that it took six hours to prepare the lamb which was marinated with traditional ingredients such as lemon grass, galangal and turmeric. The Roasted Lamb was the main highlight of the night served with black pepper or mint sauce accompanied by Nasi Briyani. I managed to taste the tender juicy lamb, it was lovely and so was the Nasi Briyani.
